2003 Arapeen ATV Jamboree Rides T. ATV TrainingThis State certified training course will be offered at 8:30 Wednesday morning at the Multi-purpose building. It is highly recommended for all "never-ever" riders and less experienced "beginner" riders. What you learn here will be very valuable during the remainder of the week by greatly improving your safety and enjoyment of the Jamboree. The following equipment is required: A helmet, goggles or face shields, gloves, long-sleeved shirt, long pants and over the ankle boots. Riders without the proper safety equipment cannot participate. Following the training, participants will take the Coal Wash Ride.
Please note that you will provide your own sack lunches while on the rides.

This ride begins at Willow Lake (elevation 9650 ft.). You must trailer your own ATV approximately 21 miles on gravel roads to get there. From there you will head down to Singleton Flat and cross Indian Creek to McEwen Flat. Then climb above the tree line, past Cove Lake and Jet Fox Reservoir to Skyline Drive. You will then head down the other side of the mountain into Manti Canyon, then back up to the Skyline and drop down through Georges Fork to Duck Fork Reservoir, then ride the gravel road past Ferron Reservoir back to Willow Lake.
This ride involves steep climbs and narrow dirt trails and is limited to 4-wheel drive only. This is a great all day ride. This trail is rated Advanced.
2. SOUTH-SIDE - SIX MILE CANYON Multimedia file viewing and clickable links are available for registered members only!! You need to

This ride begins at the top of Ferron Dugway (elevation 8200 ft.). You must trailer your own ATV approximately 14 miles on gravel roads to there. From there you will go to Hunters Highway, then around the South Side of Ferron Mountain and cross Skyline Drive at Twelve Mile Flat. You will then head down the other side of the mountain into Six Mile Canyon, then back up to the Skyline and drop down to Ferron Reservoir and Willow Lake, then back to Ferron Dugway.
This ride is mainly on maintained Forest roads. There is a good chance that you may spot Mule Deer. This trail is rated Beginner.

This ride begins in the Town of Emery (elevation 6250 ft. to 10,000 ft.). You must trailer your own ATV approximately 9 miles on Highway 10 to there. From there you will go to the Muddy River, then up the Hole Trail passing superb views and great geology to Flagstaff Peak and Spinners Reservoir. Then drop down and cross the Muddy at the Lower Crossing, then up to the Skyline past Blue Lake and head toward White Mountain. You will then go down Black Fork to Wildcat Knolls and drop down Link Canyon back to Emery. This affords great views of up to 100 miles away.
This ride involves steep climbs and narrow dirt trails and is limited to 4-wheel drive only. This trail is rated Advanced.

This ride begins at Joe's Valley Reservoir (elevation 6990 ft.). You must trailer your own ATV approximately 25 miles on Utah State Highways 10 and 29 to reach the Trail Head. From there you will go up Reeder Canyon to Skyline Drive then down to Grassy Lake and back to Joe's Valley Reservoir. This ride involves some steep climbs on a good ATV trail. This is a great 3/4 day ride. This trail is rated Intermediate.

This ride begins at Joe's Valley Reservoir (elevation 6990 ft.). You must trailer your own ATV approximately 25 mile on Utah State Highways 10 and 29 to the Trail Head. From there you will go to Potter's Pond and to Skyline Drive the along Skyline Drive where there are fantastic views and back down Littles Creek to Grassy Lake and back to Joe's Valley Reservoir.
This ride is mainly on maintained Forest roads. This trail is rated Beginner.

This ride begins at Ferron Picnic Grounds (elevation 6600 ft. to 10,000ft.). You must trailer your own ATV approximately 9 miles on gravel roads to there. From there you will go up Black Dragon Canyon to Joe's Valley Reservoir then up Reeder Canyon to Skyline Drive. You then go along Skyline Drive to George's Fork, then down to Duck Fork Reservoir, Ferron Reservoir and Willow Lake back to Ferron Picnic Grounds.
This ride is mainly on maintained Forest roads with some good ATV trails. It is a full, hard day's ride so be sure and bring extra fuel.. This trail is rated Intermediate.

This ride begins at Twelve Mile Flat (elevation 10200 ft.). You must trailer your own ATV approximately 30 miles on gravel roads to there. From there you will go down the Pinchot Trail to Mayfield Canyon, then back up to Skyline Drive and across Corner Canyon Trail back to Twelve Mile Flat.
This ride involves narrow, steep ATV trails. This trail is rated Advanced.

This ride begins at Willow Lake (elevation 9650 ft.). You must trailer your own ATV approximately 21 miles on gravel roads to there. From there you will go to Wrigley Reservoir, then to Spinner's Reservoir, Ferron Reservoir, Duck Fork and back to Willow Lake. (A 5 day or 1 day fishing license for out of state visitors can be purchased in Ferron or Castle Dale).
This ride is on maintained Forest Roads. This trail is rated Beginner.

This ride begins at Belview Flat (elevation 5550 ft.). You must trailer your own ATV approximately 12 miles on gravel roads to there. From there you will go up Coal Wash to Slipper Arch and back.
This ride is mostly along a sandy wash bottom with some slick rock and is in a Wilderness Study Area. This ride is rated Beginner.

This ride begins at Justensen Flat (elevation 7000 ft.). You must trailer your own ATV approximately 25 miles on gravel roads to there. From there you will drop down into Eagle Canyon then climb back out through the South Fork and around to Swasey Cabin, then down the Main Fork of Eagle Canyon and back to Justensen Flat.
This ride is along a fairly technical trail with steep rock crossings and is limited to 4-wheel drive only. This trail is rated Advanced.

This ride begins at the foot of Cedar Mountain (elevation 6200 ft.). You must trailer your own ATV approximately 30 miles on gravel roads to there. From there you will follow the rim of Buckhorn Wash along the trail used by the SouthEastern OHV Club for their annual ATV Poker Ride.
This trail is along a fairly good ATV trail that provides great views of deep canyons and also along some gravel roads. This trail is rated intermediate.

This ride begins at Belview Flat (elevation 5550 ft.). You must trailer your own ATV approximately 12 miles on gravel roads to there. From there you will go up Coal Wash, taking the South Fork of Coal Wash down into Eagle Canyon. Then you will follow the wash passing under the twin bridges of I-70 that span Eagle Canyon to Swasey Cabin then across the Head of Sinbad to some famous Indian Petroglyphs. From there you will drop down to Cane Wash and climb out over Fix-It Pass into the North Fork of Coal Wash and back to Belview Flat.
This ride is along a fairly technical trail through a Wilderness Study Area and is limited to 4-wheel drive only. This is one of the best rides in the San Rafael Swell. This trail is rated Advanced.

This ride begins at Fremont Junction (elevation 6500 to 10,000 ft.). You must trailer your own ATV 34 miles on Utah State Highway 10 to Fremont Junction at I-70. You will travel along National Forest roads on the Great Western Trail. There will be some narrow, rocky trails and some steep hills. You will need to carry extra fuel for this ride. This trail is rated Intermediate.

This ride begins at Hogan Pass (elevation 8000 to 9500 ft.). You must trailer your own ATV 45 miles along Utah State Highways 10 and 72 to there. You will then travel along the Great Western Trail over lava rock and steep hills, some of it being very narrow. There will also be some great overlooks of Capitol Reef National Park. This trail is rated Advanced.
