This ride will take you from the valley floor to over 10,000 feet. You will pass next to 200 foot cliffs as you weave your way through the forest, past meadows and streams. As you travel across the top of Thousand Lake Mountain, you can see the majestic rock outcrops and pinnacles of the San Rafael Swell and Capital Reef National Park. Like a great eagle you will see the contrast of the autumn colors with the bright red and gold landscape laying thousands of feet below. This will entrance you with the awesome wonder of miles of the most beautiful county on earth. On a clear day you can see into Colorado. On your way home you will pick your way through rocks as big as trucks and descend though the forest like a ribbon blowing in the wind. Take plenty of film, water and a hardy lunch. Suggested four wheel drive, and "Advanced" riders, it will be a long day about 35 miles with steep slopes and tight trails. We will begin in Lyman, about 50 miles from Richfield; you will need to trailer your ATV to that location.
