Hi Willie,
Washington County is having a joint work meeting between the planning commission and the county commissioners to discuss OHV usage on the county roads in Pine Valley. A vocal member of the county planning commission lives in Pine Valley and he is making a case for banning OHVs completely from the area. I understand he has invited representatives from the Forest Service and BLM to attend. And I'm sure he will have a vocal group of Pine Valley residents in attendance. I realize that many members of the club probably don't have many ties to this area of the county, but I think it's critical that as many members as possible attend this meeting to represent and protect our rights. It has been suggested that the outcome of the Pine Valley decision will serve as a model for the whole county so we all have something at stake. The meeting is Monday January 12, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. in the County Commission Chambers in the Washington County building at 197 E. Tabernacle in St. George. My family has a cabin in Pine Valley that I have been visiting since I was born. Pine Valley is a recreation area. My family uses it for recreation as do many others. We want it to stay that way. Please get the word out to as many club members as you can. I will be at the meeting and I hope to see a big crowd of club members there to put a responsible face on our sport. Thanks.
