Petition against the closure of Hog Canyon Trail.
01/27/04 at 09:43:33

To all OHV riders,

Please take a minute and write a letter in response and to petition against the closure of The Hog Canyon Trail.

Here's the info:

Canyon Country 4X4 Club         OHV Trails Proposal for Hog Canyon
2 miles North of Kanab, Utah.  A multiple use area.
Comment Period,   January 9 to February 9 2004

Written Comments to:      BLM  Kanab Field Office
                                   Lorraine M. Christian Assistant Manager
                                   318 N. 100 E.
                                   Kanab, UT  84741

Form letters and petitions type comments are not effective and in some BLM analyzing
areas are no longer even considered.  Take the time to submit a brief individual letter.
Important comments might include the importance of this trail system for you and your
family recreation, why it is needed here in Kanab now and into the future.  How it will help the
local economy.  How it will help maintain ACCESS TO PUBLIC LAND.  How it helps make up
for some of the public land access lost to the Monument.
This comment period is important  in the process and will direct the Environmental
Assessment that is the next step. This proposal has been a 3 year effort and has obtained
Grant money from the  Utah State Parks, recognition by Governor Levitt Trails Committee, the
support of County and City officials and local business.  It has many ideas supported by BLM in
their land management considerations and will be a partnership to assist the management of this
area for multiple use.  30 minutes of your time to write a letter of support WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

THANKS,
