Logan, Utah---
The Eastern portion of the Millville Canyon Road (FR 168) from Inspiration Point Road (FR 126) to the junction with White’s Bedground will be closed for repair from August 26th to about the end of September to protect public health and safety while heavy equipment is being used. This closure will block through traffic from Millville Canyon (FR 168) and Providence Canyon (FR 022) over to the Cowley Canyon / Herd Hollow Road (FR 047) which is also a portion of route #2 of the Shoshone Trail System. The project is the first phase of a multiyear project to improve access to the communications tower on Logan Peak. The radio repeaters on this tower provide critical communications for federal, state and private emergency services statewide. The tower is difficult to access, as the existing road is very rough, and has steep sections. Also, an underlying high voltage cable buried in the roadbed has become exposed in some places. Wild Rose Construction is the contractor performing the work under the direction of the Wasatch-Cache National Forest Engineering Department in Salt Lake City.
