My family and I are extremely interested in participating this year however, I would like some clarity on the rating.  We have been riding for approximately 5 years (2000-2500 k miles)  in the midwest and southern mo.  My concern is my wife, short of extreme climbs with steps and off camber traversing she would be fine.  I just don't want to put her in over her head where she would be tense and make my trip painful.

Any input or advise would be appreciated.

Brad, your wife won't have any problems with most of the rides.  There is a ladies only ride on Wednesday with a catered lunch that would be great for her.  You have your choice of the other rides. Look them over on the description on the web site to see the ones you'd like.  Most of them are for intermediate riders but there are very few troublesome spots.  The 2 that are listed for 4 wheel drive only are for very experienced riders.  If you have any more questions feel free to e-mail me.  Don't miss out on this jamboree.  You will enjoy every minute of it!!

Hello and thank you for your response.  Lastly, is there a childrens rate?  My daughter will be 9 at the time of the ride and riding with either myself or my wife.  I plan to register immediately upon clarification.

If your child is just going to be a passenger and not riding her own ATV then simply purchase them a "Meal Tickets for Family members not registered as riders."  $25 each at the checkout page. She will still be in the raffles and stuff. As I understand the rules Adults riding as passengers on any of the new 2 seater ATV's such as those from Bombardier are required to register as a full priced rider. $125 for an Adult and a weeks events is CHEEP. Last time I took a count they gave away more than that in prizes and meals to each rider.

If however your child will be riding her own machine she will need to be registered at full price. She will also have to take the Multimedia file viewing and clickable links are available for registered members only!!  You need to Login or Register!!
on Monday unless she already has an ASI certificate from a State Utah honors.

Utah now honors all ASI certificates and the following States OHV/ATV education programs.
Oregon State Parks
California State Parks
Texas Wildlife and Parks
Iowa Department of Natural Resources
Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources
Minnesota Department of Natural Resources
Pennsylvania Dept. of Conservation and Natural Resources
Michigan Department of Natural Resources
New York
North Dakota State Parks and Recreation
Maine Department of Conservation

What about helmets?
Properly-fitted, safety-rated helmets must be worn by OHV drivers and passengers under 18 years of age. All drivers and passengers of any age should wear protective head gear so we require them at all the Jamborees.  After the Jamboree it's your choice to wear one or not if your over 18.

We have rode this area for 5-6 years and it is so beautiful you don't want to miss it.  The mountain rides are on pretty good trails, some hard spots but nothing awful.  On the other hand the rides in the swell are rocky and difficult.  We had a bunch of people from outside of Utah in our group last year and they totally vapor locked at the size and difficulty of the rock riding...they had no experience with really big rocks and 500 foot drop offs.    Here's the good news, I think I saw an easy ride in the swell, so you can go in without worrying too much.  And believe me, it's worth it.  A beautiful, unbelievable place.  We took our grandkids on that ride (outside the jamboree) and they loved it.  They each have their own machine and did just fine.  I think they were 7 thru 10 at the time.  See you there.
