Arapeen jamboree new?

I found out about your jamboree through the annual mailing from the Rocky Mountain ATV Jamboree.  The ride descriptions sound very interesting, but I can only attend one jamboree this year.  I've been to the Richfield event three times and am hoping someone could offer some comments to help me decide between the two jamborees.

The Arapeen jamboree is in their second year. It's a much smaller Jam so you'll get a much more personalized treatment and ride with smaller groups. The rides go on a Huge, fairly new trail system, called the Arapeen and out in the San Rafael Swell area so you get a very broad range of terrain. You can pick from the Skyline drive above the tree tops to the deserts of eastern Utah and the Red Rocks. Some of the rides are in areas much like the Paiute Trail. You'll ride through heavy timber pine forests and above the tree-line at times, some are in deep red-stone canyons carved out by natures furry over millions of years. A couple rides will take you through Eagle Canyon which got it's name from all the bald eagles that live there. If you have never seen this majestic bird in person, in the wild, that alone is worth the trip. If you've done the Rocky Mountain several years give the Arapeen a try you wont regret it. Mark and the bunch there do an awesome job with the Arapeen Jam.

If you want a map of the Arapeen we have them here on ATVUtah.com's front page or under the Arapeen Jamboree's website. the map is free you simply pay for Priority mail postage and handling. We also have a book written by Mark Williams the chairman of the Arapeen Jamboree about the San Rafael Swell area thats a great guide and will give you some insight to that area and what it would be like to ride there. I'm still trying to work out a deal for San Rafael Swell area ATV maps.

Thanks for the information.  We've decided on the Arapeen jamboree this year.  I will be there (from Missouri) along with my father and brother (from Oklahoma).  After looking at the photos on your website and from my own research, I have to say I can't wait!  We'll be registering soon.

Hey Robert:  I have been on the Paiute trail and we did the Arapeen last year.  My opinion, the Arapeen is the best.  Bigger choice of rides, fewer people, more diversity.    I don't like going somewhere where you pass a chevy suburan loaded down with 12 kids.  That is how we describe the Filmore rides.  Boring.  I didn't buy ATV's to drive them down a 2 land road.

This won't happen on the Arapeen, you will love it.  I see you are coming,  bring your camera you will be blown away by the beauty of it..the San Rafael is my favorite place to ride and the most beautiful place I have ever seen.  So you are from the mid-west, go find some rocks...big ones..practice riding over them.

Does anyone know if there is an Arapeen Jamboree "06"? From all I've read on this site, it's a great place to ride. My wife and I did Moab last year and plan to return but would like to add a different loacatin to the trip. Length of time is unimportant. We plan to do a September trip for 2 or 3 weeks.

Yes there is an 06 Arapeen ATV Jamboree. all the current information is right here on ATVUtah. the home for all the Utah Jamboree's. If you have any questions feel free to ask tight here in the Arapeen Jamboree section as the main man in charge of the Jamboree checks the forums.

You can even register online here Smiley

They like to keep the event smaller so everyone gets to know each and every other rider there.

So so register early because as I said Arapeen Jamboree is a much smaller Jamboree for a reason.

Hey Mark Williams, We gave in and got a computer.  Thanks for all the info, pictures, and registration.  We sent it in, did you get it? We are even more psyched about the jamboree now that we have been able to see even more pictures and info. online.  We are staying at Gilly's and trying to talk a few more people from our club to go.  Our club website in Fla. is: Multimedia file viewing and clickable links are available for registered members only!!  You need to Login or Register!!
you'll have to go on there some time soon and see our swamp riding.  If you go on the forum and go under Club Rides and select Little 5A video you can see a bit of one of our clubs favorite spots.  We love mountains also though and can't wait to see the beauty of Utah.  The highest trail we've ever been on is 3800ft in Coal Creek Tenn.  so this will be so exciting.  We are going to check out Hatfield-McCoy in WV just for 2 days in the end of April. Anyone been there yet?
