Width restrictions on Arapeen trails???
06/08/06 at 11:56:07

I am planning on my first trip to Ferron this September.

I bring a Polaris 600 Sportsman and a Polaris Ranger. When wifey wants to ride...we use the Ranger.

We have run into gated trails in some parts of the Paiute which the Ranger could not get through....naturally, no notice until we got stopped on a steep, narrow trail with 20 or more ATV's backed up behind us.

Are there any similar situations on any of the Arapeen trails?

Thanks for any information,

Roger

Yes, there are sections of trail on the Aarapeen that are limited as you described.  There are plenty of roads to ride on as well but there are ATV only sections that are limited to narrower ATVs.

Check the map.  But don't rely solely on it.  There are sections of trail where mudslides have created spots where even a standard ATV has troubles getting past.

We rode down there over the Memorial Day weekend.  We were in the 12-Mile Canyon area and couldn't get up to the top to cross over to the Ferron side of the mountian but have been there the past several years.  Some awesome riding.  Enjoy yourselves.
