Powell Ranger District  - Paunsaugunt Plateau

Straight Canyon Loop takes you through mixed conifer and aspen forests. Overlooking the community of Alton and to the west you can seen the Markagunt Plateau. Looking below notice a large window with pink and red cliffs stretching for hundreds of feet. This loop is 19 miles long and will take approximately 1 1/2 hours to complete. The series of roads' are narrow, winding, and rutted to make it a challenging ride.

Elevation ranges from 8160 feet to 9255 feet.

Northern Trail access near: N37.47051 W112.30724
Mid-Point Trail access near: N37.47064 W112.30716
Southern Trail Head and Parking near: N37.40560 W112.37377
