The Utah/Arizona ATV Club is announcing the 5th annual ATV Poker Run, scheduled for Saturday, April 21, 2007 at 9:00 AM. Contact person: Jerry Foote, President, Utah/Arizona ATV Club. Phone: 435 644-3167
The event will take place over an approximate 30 mile course in the Peek a Boo Canyon area about 8 miles north of Kanab just off US Highway 89. During this fun event each ATV rider buys a poker card, and then rides to five locations along the well marked route and draws chips to complete the card. The ride takes the riders through the beautiful southern Utah landscape with an easy rider difficulty rating. Winners will be awarded with various prizes after the run is completed. The staging area is off US 89 about 8 miles north of Kanab on the old Highway 89 frontage road. The turn off to the staging area will be signed as will the approved ATV Poker Run route. Soft drinks and lunches ($5 per person) can be obtained at the staging area.
It is during this event that our membership and the many participants (more than 200 last year) come together to enjoy the beautiful color country of Southern Utah. We are expecting many other ATV enthusiasts from the tri-state area to take part in this years ATV poker run. We invite you, your family and friends to come and enjoy this poker run along with us.
The Utah/Arizona ATV Club is a long established non-profit organization with more than 70 members coming from Kane County, and northern Arizona. With membership also from other areas of Utah, Arizona, Nevada and California, we take pride in our fellowship activities among our membership and our enjoyment in riding our ATV’s through some of the most beautiful ATV trails of southern Utah and northern Arizona. Our club is involved in many other community service events often supporting our local schools and students. We have also supported other community charitable organizations.
Recently the Club obtained a grant from Polaris of America to improve the road to the Hog Canyon Trailhead. This opened many Hog Canyon trails and roads to not only locals but to visitors interested in a variety of outdoor activities. The Club also provides instructors for Utah Parks and Recreation OHV certification courses, paying the tuition for the kids needing the certification. Youngsters are taught the safe and responsible use of OHV’s within their communities.
The Utah/Arizona ATV Club enjoys the support of the B.L.M, Kane County and the Kane County Travel Council in putting this poker run together. We thank the many businesses who offer contributions and sponsorship which ensures the success of this annual event.
Looking forward to seeing you at this years Utah Arizona ATV Club Poker Run.
