Freddy

You need to think about what type of country you want to visit.  The neat thing with this jam is you can go desert (out on the swell) or you can ride mountains (Arapeen trails).  It is great to get to mix and match, and the jam is small enough that there is not a problem changing rides around if you hear about one that really sets you a goin.

The fix-it pass is a great ride, you will get to see some truly fantastic Utah vista sights and have some fun at the same time.  Another interesting ride is the Buckhorn Wash ride, again lots of fun and some spectacular views.  I didn't do the mountain rides last year so I can't offer any intelegent suggestions there.  Just rest asured that you will have a great time at this wonderful jam!!

I did the "Fix it Pass" ride one day and had a blast.  We got caught in a rain/hailstorm and tried to outrun a flash-flood!  We ended up waiting a couple of hours though and the water went back down so we were able to scoot out.  The next day I did "The Hole" ride which ended up on top of the mountains east of town.  It was beautiful and challenging as well.  A good variety.

I also did "The Devils Racetrack" (which is offered during the Jam) this spring with a small group of friends.  It was very challenging but fun.  You can't go wrong...all the rides were fun and the guides were very experienced and approachable.

Freddy,
I agree with onebottledave.  There's a good variety of the rides you're able to take.  I went on three last year that I thoroughly enoyed.  The Fix-it Pass/Flash Flood ride  Grin , Behind the Reef, and the Ferron Reservoir (05 trail, I believe).  As mentioned some of us got caught in a flash flood coming back off the Fix-it Pass ride.  Ask Wojo342 'bout that ride.  Wink

Let me know what you decide because I plan on going again this year, and maybe we can hook up.

Onebottledave...I don't believe we've met, but maybe this year, huh?

Bob,  I think you are right, but we will this year.  I have been signed up for some time now, just can't wait to get down there again and ride.  I think we need to hand name tags off or quads to help ID each other Wink

Well its getting near time to head to Ferron, I hope everyone is signed up for the rides they want to do.  I had a call from Mark a little time back, looks like another great Jam is instore for all who go.  I stopped in at the burger shack across from Gilly's, they still do a mean shake and burger.  Hope to see you all there.

Hey Guys!

I was told that you can't actually ride to Ferron on your ATV, that you must be trailered there.  We will be riding from the Strawberry res. on down towards Bryce but, as you know, have no car so, think it's possible for us to hit the Jam anyway?

Marc,

All I can tell you is that last year at the Jam you could ride your quad in to town, we did on several occasions as part of the Jam (we were not just out having a good time, although it was fun).  You can come down Ferron Canyon right past the golf course and the state park.  The only restriction seems to be that you can cross Hwy 10 but you can't ride up and down it.  Ferron like many of the towns in this part of Utah open their doors wide open and welcome ATVs.  If you make it to the Jam you will have a great time.

PS:  I will see you the week of Aug. 19 as planned.  I checked and the campground doesn't do reservations so if I can't find a spot I will leave word at the ranger station as to where you can find me.
