I was working at Bryce Canyon last summer.  Well took the quad and got to ride a bunch of trails, NEVER SAW A TRAILER TILL WE PACKED UP IN NOV, !

Casto three times, nice 60 mile trip from the campground.  Lots of poking and peeking into very interesting country, Had some friends that brought their bike up and did more.  Would have done much more had my friend enjoyed it as much as I do.

Watched a coyote make an attempt of a very nice buck deer.  Yeah fat chance there little guy.  The buck ran the dogs ass off.  One really does learn to love mother nature when one gets to spend some time with her.

Yes your event is over, but all the places are still there and available for you 100% of the time.  Every day of each year, fine it snows..... but such again is mother nature and seasonal.

I notice no mention since 2007 is the event no more? We would be interested in a triple play: Bryce, Arrapeen then Richfield

I'm hoping someone can give me some insight on this event. I've attended other jamborees such as Richfield, Fillmore, Hurricane, and
Wallace, ID. But not this one nor have I ridden in this specific area.

I have looked at the website information and the ride descriptions. It looks interesting. But I'm curious how big is this event - ie. How many attendees? Has anyone on this board attended in the past? Any opinions on this event? How does it compare to some of the others I have attended?

Thanks for sharing your insights.

Bill,

The event is on the smaller size I think last year there might have been 50-100 quads at most...for sure some nice trails to ride in the area. The event keeps getting bigger every year hope you enjoy if you are able to attend.

Chanman,

Thanks for the reply. The event size sounds good. I also do the larger events such as Richfield, etc. and they are fine. But 50-100 riders is plenty. I want to visit the Panguitch area - It looks interesting. And, assuming I attend, I hope to go over to Bryce Canyon.

BTW, I've enjoyed your pictures. Thanks for sharing.

A goup of us rode 65 miles yesterday in the Tahoe National Forest. Lot of fun. Finally got turned back by snow near Meadow Lake.

Bill,
Glad to be of help..if by chance you make it out to the Rally by all means shoot me a message I would love to do some riding or show you around if you are interested in a tag along. I have spent the last 8 years riding the area so other than a couple of trails I may have mmissed I have ridden probably 90% of them at this time....  :0)

ChanMan,

I'm planning to attend. My first time at this rally or in the Panguitch area. Arriving late Tuesday, the 21st. Wednesday morning I'm planning to visit Bryce Canyon NP. Can't wait to see it. The Rally social Wednesday evening, the three days of rides.

I'm primarily there to enjoy the scenary. From the pictures on this site and others, I expect it will be great.

I want to take a moment to comment on Utah and the Utah ATV rallies/jamborees. This will be my first time in Panguitch, in March I did my second Tri-state, I've done 3 Fillmore jamborees, and September will be my 5th Richfield Jamboree. The rides are usually great, and the scenary spectacular. But what I really notice is the people. They really make me feel welcome.

I live in California. But I drive about 650 miles to ride in Utah. California is a beautiful place and scenary and terrain is great. And many of the people are also great. But, from an ATV riding perspective, various small groups have gone out of there way to make ATV riding and many other activities unwelcome. The result is that our national forests in California are largely empty. I can ride all day in places like Tahoe NF, El Dorado NF, and Inyo NF and see perhaps 1 other rider or nobody. While the lack of crowds is nice, this really reflects an attitude of keeping the ATV riders out.

The first rally I attended was in Richfield about 5 years ago. I was shocked. Signs in town welcoming the ATV riders!; riding your ATV on the city streets!!; the mayor, police chief, and forest and BLM directors welcoming us and telling us to go ride and have fun!!!. Wow, I was not in California anymore.

Anyway, this is a bit of a rant. But it is intended as a compliment and a  "thank you" to Utah and its people.

Looking forward to Panguitch.

Bill

Bill,
Glad to hear you will make it down to Panguitch I don't think you will be disappointed in the Rally even tho it might not be the size of others it is very atv friendly. I will be in town on friday and saturday to do some riding hopefully I will run into you either on the trail or at the Triple C Arena where it all takes place. If you are interested they have a poker run on saturday and the cost I am not sure about but you can find that out at the arena when you arrive....when it gets closer shoot me a PM and let me know your schedule maybe I can meet you at the arena and do some riding over the weekend take care have fun   Wink

So did anyone go to the rally.  I was planning on coming up for at least one day and ride Casto Canyon, but it rained so much early in the week, I kind of got scared off. I saw some video of Casto with high water, and that didn't appeal to me.  It looks like a great rally, and I would love to see something from this year's trip.

I stopped in to the Triple C Arena on late Friday afternoon when I got to town but other than a few people running the Rally there was no one around. I inquired about doing the poker run and the people told me there was not alot that signed up due to the afternoon rain showers they had been having all week so needless to say I did not go on the poker run. I made a short ride around the Panguitch Lake area and only saw about 10 machines making there way from the local resort on their way back to town for the poker run and that was early afternoon which shortly after that it started raining pretty good. So not totally sure how it all went but I assume we should hear something from a couple of members soon.    Wink

I attended the Rally in Panguitch. I talked to one of the organizers. He said they had about 135 attendees pre-registered. I don't know about any last minutes registrants. Seemed like a good event. Everyone I spoke with seemed to be h aving a good time. I recognized a lot of folks I have met at other jamborees.

This was my first time in the area. Bryce Canyon was beautiful, even though I visited on a rainy morning. Certainly worth the time to see.

I did the Casto Canyon, Sanford Loop, and Poker RUn rides. Great scenary and nice trails. The rain in the area kept the dust down but did produce some muddy areas. We got rained on during the Wednesday Casto Canyon ride and the Saturday Poker Run ride. While I didn't do a head count, I estimate the Poker Run had about 25 riders. Lunch was at Panguitch Lake. After lunch some of the riders left a little early and return the same way we came up. Others, including myself, hung around and followed the ride leader back a different way. This return included some mud and rain. But nobody melted.

Overall, a good event and I expect many attendees will return next year.
