Hot dog, more great pictures from that ugly, trail-less Arapeen place.  Roll Eyes  Grin  Smiley  Smiley

Any chance that you guys could translate the ride names like "The Hole Ride" into Arapeen trail numbers for us uninitiated ignorant types like me? Or if you have any track logs from those rides, they would be much appreciated and I can become un-ignorant on my own via the magic of technology.  Smiley

Thanks Dave! That helps a lot.

Looks like the "Hole Trail" is a loop including Arapeen trails 09, 95, 94, 91, 07, 93, and a side trail that goes from 93 to Emery without actually touching Hwy 10. Or is it really just one of the segments in that loop?

I honestly couldn't say GG, when you are rideing in a Jamboree you are mostly playing follow the leader (or at least the person in front of you) and you don't realy have the time to breakout the map and figure what or where you are or have been.  I use the tracklog mostly to get me back into the general area when I have the chance to go explore on my own.  Sorry I can't be more specific than that.

Dave

Just a thought, I think you are refering to the first segment of the ride, we could have started north of Emery (there is a historical marker about 3.5 miles out of town) but then we would have ended up on that "side" trail at the end as we had to come back into Emery, so do it first or last its your option.  This track is also a little different than the one Wojo342 was on, we had weather coming in as we were on top of the Sky Line Drive with lots of electricity falling around us and wanted to get down off the mountain as quickly as possible.  It was fun sliding down hill making believe that you were actually in control of the quad, and not gravity dictating where you went.

On edit...(man I'm struggling today!)
Sorry..that last post was meant to be a quote from OneBottle Dave.  I can personally attest to the fact the the car wash owner in FERRON was significantly more wealthy after the Wednesday "Hole Ride."  I'm not sure but by my best estimates I would say that several hundred pounds of mud were washed down the sump from those who rode that ride!!!

No worries, we'll just ride that whole loop and not worry about what it's called.  But hopefully not on a day with electricity in the air like you described!  Shocked

I'm happy to report that the loop (or at least the individual trails) were already on the Multimedia file viewing and clickable links are available for registered members only!!  You need to Login or Register!!

Wasn't that fun make believing that we were actually in control coming down off that mountain?  The mud must have been 4 inches thick in the foot wells.  Can't wait to do it again next year.

Yep, the Bighorns did me in. At one point the mud was piled up on the boards half way up to my knees. I was still pulling it off the underside when I got home. Portable Utah real estate. We'll be there next year.
