Kolpin (or other) fuel pack
06/07/08 at 14:10:07

Looking for cheap/used 1.5gal and 4gal Kolpin (old and/or new) style fuel flat packs. I have the new rack mounts but haven't used them yet.

Unfortunately, I attempted to spray paint (camo.) my last flat pack and the paint constantly "popped" off when the flat pack expanded due to heat. I think I'd prefer 2 x 1.5gal over the 4gal. If you have one (or more) for a decent price, PM me.

For that price I just bought 4 of them from FA as they are great for fuel storage since they don't leak and don't have that vent stack that allows moisture into the gas.

A few tidbits to those wanting to store fuel for long periods (like when you can get gas cheaper):
1. Always fill container all the way full as that cuts down on possible moisture contamination and less air to expand and contract with changes in tempeture.
2. Use a storage agent like Stabil to stabilize the fuel against breakdown.
3. Always store in a well ventilated area.  This is not as important with the Rotopax since they don't leak, but I would put them in a ventilated area anyway.
