After a narrow miss in 2008, the All-Terrain Vehicle Association of Minnesota is gearing up for another attempt in 2009
On June 13, 2009, the All-Terrain Vehicle Association of Minnesota (ATVAM) will be attempting to break a Guinness World Record™ for the World's Longest ATV Parade. Currently, Harlan County Ridge Runners in Everts Kentucky holds the record with 1,138 ATV's in a parade. ATVAM encourages all ATV enthusiasts to join them in Silver Bay for a weekend of fun riding, and other ATV related activities. Organizers are aiming to have more than 2,000 ATV's participate in the parade. In 2008, ATVAM made its first attemt at breaking the world Record but fell short by only 56 ATV's. The official count for the parade was 1,083 ATV's. (three wheelers and side x sides did not count towards the record).

Registration and the staging area for the parade will be located one half mile North of Outer Drive and Hwy. 61 N in the field in front of AmericInn Motel. There will be signs showing participants where to go. There will be ample parking on the streets and surrounding areas. The parade route will be a designated ATV trail for the day, so children can ride in the parade as long they meet all MN safety requirements. Side-by-side ATV's and three-wheelers are welcome to come, but are not going to be counted by Guinness World Records™ towards the record breaking attempt. Sponsors of the ATV Parade will be hosting booths on-site for participants to see new products.
The parade committee met with the City of Silver Bay, local businesses and the Silver Trail Riders ATV club in October. The committee was welcomed with open arms and the city of Silver Bay is excited that the parade will be held in their community. Besides the fabulous ATV and Snowmobile trail systems, it is a place that showcases the beauty that Minnesota is known for all along the famous North Shore Drive.
Please bring a canned food item to donate to the Silver Bay food bank; items will be collected at the parade site.
