Sa Rafeal Robber Caught

This saga started years ago with the story of "The crazy man" that I printed in March of 2007. It was widely known not to park or leave your vehicle near Woodside as this is where the suspect originated from. Continuing on, corral rails and fencing materials totaling $10,000 were stolen from the Rock House near Chimney Rock. Followed by the theft of a Honda generator and propane tank from a rancher in the same vicinity in August of 2008. Recently, items were being stolen from individuals vehicles and camps at an alarming rate. The police learned that the illusive "Chimney rock bandit" was possibly now on a white motorcycle.

This is where the story really gets good.

We had just enjoyed a great day riding near Green River and headed into Rays Tavern for a burger and a beverage. As I walked in the door a group of friends called me to their table to hear the most amazing story of the day. As the story was being told I could not believe what I was hearing. I was a bit skeptical of the authenticity of the story. You know how friends can weave a pretty tale when needed. I questioned the story! The storytellers eyes got really big, and he said, "You couldn't make up a story this good!"

The following story is a personal account of events written by Jason Allinson. Enjoy!!!

CHIMNEY ROCK BANDIT BEHIND BARS

Today myself Jason Allinson, Jeramie Young and Ron Young went riding down at Chimney Rock. When we got there we heard that the Chimney Rock Bandit had been seen earlier that day. We went for a ride not seeing him, we went back to our truck to eat lunch. While we were eating, Emery County Sheriff Officer John Barnett stopped and told us that he seen some tracks over by where he was last seen. So we gassed up our bikes and headed over to where he had seen the tracks. Jeramie decided to climb to the top of the hill to see what he could see. When he got the top of the hill, sure enough, there he was stealing a gas can and a coat out of the back of a truck. Right there at the time, we took off after him he headed down a wash and I was right on his ass!! After about 300 yards he hit a wash and went over the bars. I jumped off my bike and tackled him. He jumped up, kicked me in the ribs, and took off running. At that time, I jumped on the bike with Jeramie and we took off after him again. Jeramie stopped and got off his bike to call the cops and I took off after him with Ron. I was right behind him in the wash and Ron was beside him on top of the wash. Ron got ahead of him and dropped down in the wash and stopped him, at that time I ran him over and jumped on him, Ron ran over and we got him down and tied his hands behind his back with my jersey. Jeramie went back to the road to get the cops and Ron went back to the bandits bike to pick it up. I heard Jeramie coming with the cops so I thought it was all over just when I turned back to the bandit he stood up and kicked me in the junk and then head butted me and took off again! I couldn't believe it. The chase was on again. I pointed Jeramie and the cops to were he was. We looked for him for about 20 minutes when finally a cop showed up with a dog and it was all over from there. He was found hiding in a hole in the ground. So anyway just wanted to let Wade Allinson , AJP and Wheels know that it is safe they dont need to be scared to ride with us at chimney rock because the chimney rock posse took care of business

I went to the awards meeting last night, It is safer to ride in the San RaFeal now!

Having been a victim of this scumbag, I was elated to hear the news of his capture.  I got a phone call from Alan Peterson the same evening that it happened, and he told me all about the chase.  It was all I could do not to whoop and holler.   Grin

I'm just curious, what story is this that you mentioned?  I'd like to find out how much was known about the guy back then.

I never worried too much when I've been down there . When I was growing up in Monroe we never locked the house , the car, nothing . I like it that way . Guess I've been lucky .

You have to give alot of credit to the folks down that way for not being afraid to get involved . Thanks again for keeping us informed , Ghost Rider . You 'da man !

Now the ICING on the CAKE ( this is an old saying ) would be all victims OF THE THEFT OF PROPERTY  AND  the Posse Member that was assaulted by this waste of skin (A.K.A. CRIMINAL)....to SUE his (the CRIMINAL'S) A** off !!!

I am pretty sure there was some "pain and suffering on your part" ( THIS IN REFERENCE TO THE POSSE MEMBER THAT WAS THE VICTIM OF AN ASSAULT BY SAID CRIMINAL )................

Way to Go Guys !!!!!!!!!

"SUE his A** off"? All that for some cake icing?

Yea... litigation is always the solution.

I don't think you really understood what happened here. Remind me to never ride with you...  Angry

Hey Pat,

I REALLY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE THINKING.

Unless I missed something, it sounds like one of the good guys was assaulted by the CRIMINAL.  The point I was trying to make was IF INJURED, THE GOOD GUY could  sue the CRIMINAL.  You can also sue the CRIMINAL  to recover the value of stolen property. (Of course taking into account the Cretin may not own two nickels, at which discovery would render litigation a useless or losing proposition...SO NO, litigation is not always a viable solution).  Sure sounds like this creep ripped off a lot of people.

AND IF YOUR COMMENT IS INDICATIVE OF YOUR TOLERANCE LEVEL OF OTHER'S OPINIONS, OR OF YOUR INABILITY TO READ, OR TO COMPREHEND  WHAT YOU READ THEN YEAH...YOU WON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ME INVITING YOU FOR A RIDE.

AND AGAIN, GREAT CATCH GUYS...VERY WELL DONE !!!

A Civil suit against the BG would be fine; IF you could get blood from a turnip.  Most of these guys don't have much to collect from.  Sad
