Water for Trailers

Just wanted to see if there is a fresh water spigot to fill a trailer at the Fairgrounds.  Don't want a hookup situation, just a tap to hook a hose to and fill my toyhauler.  Or is there another location close to the Fairgrounds, ie, truckstop, RV park ect.  that will allow you to fill up on water?   Don't want to carry 100 gallons and all that weight from Northern UT.   Thanks, RB    help me   carrying flag

Several of the gas stations right off the main road leading to Hurricane and to the fair grounds have dump stations and water spigots.

There is also one right near the restrooms on the south end of the parking lot where the dry camping will be. It is there for filling a horse watering trough but I was told by the grounds keepers it's city water so not worry. We also filled our tank one year from a faucet inside the restrooms under the sink.  If your not there early you might need a bit of hose to reach but it can be done. I have a couple 100 foot garden hoses in the RV just for that Wink

Thanks for the specific info Gary.  I knew the answer would be found here on the forums.  I will make sure I have a couple of extra long hose lengths in addition to the ones I already carry.  Maybe someone else will need to use them too.   RB Grin

Okay people here is the latest update.
The Texaco off of Hurricane Exit 16 has a dump station and fresh water,
it is located on the other side of Arby's; toward the field.

The showers at Zion's Gate RV will not be available, unless you are
staying in their RV Park. Due to it being under new management and
under a Home Owners Association, you have to have a key card to
get into the rest rooms and they will not issue key cards to those not
staying in the Park.

Sorry, I know that hurts. But, I can't get them to change their minds.

Thanks

Thanks for checking , Cindy . Since I'm ending up  going alone this year I should be okay on water . If not , now I know I can  dump and refill . I will definitely buy fuel at the Texaco because of their having this available .

If things get too tough I know an old yahoo up the road with a shower ...... Grin

Glen, if your friend with the shower doesn't work out, our trailer has an outside hose for washing off the ATVs.   We could add you in with the ATVs.   No problem!   Wink     Rolling on floor laughing

Hey, I like that steam cleaner idea! We could line everyone up and hose them all off at once! This might be more fun than the ATV Rodeo!

It might sound like a joke but when we went to the Mud Nationals in Texas thats just what they did. People were lining up and paying big bucks to get hosed down by a crew with a tanker truck and several pressure washers so they could then go get in line for the showers  and pay even more $$$ Rolling on floor laughing Rolling on floor laughing

Headed down sat to get the trailer set up can't wait.
Have to say it's almost like waiting fpr Santa to come down the chimney at christmas.
Work is just a blur thinking of what needs to be done to get ready.
Almost done packing and can load the quads and head out.

We were wondering, with all the weather down that way this year, if the trails will be muddy, partly muddy, or what?  Last year it was so dusty, it would be nice to have a little moisture to hold the dust down.

It's all up to the HMIC (Head Mother In Charge) but it looks like we'll have some more rain this weekend and at least one trail is still closed with snow, others may be effected as well, we'll have a better handle on the snow after this weekend.

Even with the snow there are still loads of trails to ride.

Just saw the weather for down that way and it looks like fair skies and about  60 degrees for the week . I woke up this morning to more snow , looks like a couple of inches outside . Right now getting too much dust doesn't seem possible !

QF you guys in that area are so blessed/lucky to be getting moisture. We are still 65% of normal. But the resivors are full.
It won't take long for the dust to kick up in Hurricane. I intend to do just that.   Smiley wanta help? Rolling on floor laughing

So how much snow is up there now? This will be our first Jam and we're very anxious, is it Wed. yet? Will trails be closed or do we deal with it as it comes?

Hey Folks,

It's Sunday and it's raining. It looks like Wed thru Sat is going to be
great weather. One thing you won't have to worry about is dust.
What you will get how ever is a mixture of wet, mud and some snow.
Some of the trails will be effected by alot of snow, and they won't be
able to be ridden due to the moisture, snow and mud issue. But, we won't know for sure until Tues. night at our club meeting which trails will not be available. We will still have plenty of room for riding, if we have to double up on the available trails.

See you Wed!
