Please make your way to Blanding Utah this Saturday May 10th 9AM to protest the BLM Closure of Recapture Canyon.

Blanding has been the site of many BLM overreach efforts, including the horrific BLM SWAT team raids that resulted in the deaths of three Blanding residents.
County Commissioner Phil Lyman has organized a peaceful ATV ride into "Recapture Canyon".  This Canyon was "temporarily" closed over 7 years ago by the BLM.

You do not need an ATV to participate.

We need to help the people of Blanding re-establish who is in control of the land.

This is your next stand.  Will you be there to help them like you helped us?

From Commissioner Lyman:

"I apologize that the protest on May 10th is not perfectly defined. That is kind of the nature of a protest. The main thing is the 9:00 AM assembly at Centennial Park In Blanding Utah on May 10th. The Park is at 900 South 300 West.

At that meeting we will have information on the many trails on which people may ride legally. Also remember the tailgate social Friday night starting at 6:30 pm, also at Centennial Park. For my part, I plan (as of this writing) to come into Recapture from the North end. About two miles down the road you come to the BLM closure sign.

The road continues on from there in the closed area about a mile or 1.5 miles until you come to where the water pipeline leaves the canyon. At that point the trail starts to wind through thick willows. I expect to turn around at that point and drive back to the closure sign and head out of the Canyon on a trail going West.

That trail, which is legal and open, goes up on top of the Canyon. It is pretty steep, but if you have a 4 wheel drive machine or a horse, you should be fine.

Side-by-Sides are no problem on this open road. Once on top, there are many legal trails that head south. You can come back into town or keep going south until you get to a major gravel road known as Perkins Road.

This road marks the South Boundary of the closed area. When you get to that point you can head south down the creek bed and you will be on the historic trail which leads all the way the the San Juan River. About 10 miles down this trail you will come to the old Stone Ruins of the Shumway Homestead.

A few miles further and you will be on on Hwy 262. There are a lot of options for you to be 100% part of this very needed protest without riding on any closed trails. Thank you all for your strong support of local jurisdiction over local interests. I hope to see you on Saturday."

PLEASE make the trip to Blanding, we need to keep sending the message loud and clear wherever the BLM is illegally asserting its power.

Thank you,
-
