BLM Volunteer Project June 7th
06/03/14 at 08:39:40

Plans have changed for the June 7th project. Instead of signing designated routes, we will be building a fence and doing some touch-up work on trail 636. This is where the OHV accident happened over the memorial day weekend. We will be constructing a fence to help send a visual message of the dangerous section of the trail. The County has worked this section with equipment, and we will be doing some touch up work in that area.
I plan on meeting at 9:00 A.M. where trail 637 meets the Moore Cut-Off Road. Please bring gloves, water, lunch, long pants, long shirt, boots, jacket, and any other personal items you may need. An ATV is not required for this project, but a high clearance vehicle will be needed to get to the project. There will most likely be time for a short ride after the project if you do bring an OHV.
If you have any quesitons, or need more details about where were meeting please give me a call or respond to this message.

If you plan on attending this project please let me know.
Thanks,

There was some confusion of where we will be meeting for this project. The 637 trail is located just off the Moore Cut-Off Road. It is about 3 miles north west of Exit 116 off of I-70, or about 14 miles south east of the town of Moore. I attached an image to show where to meet for this project.

My wife and I will be coming down to help with this project. Hopefully we will be able to prevent another tragedy like this. We will be staying at Gillys Inn in Ferron, if anyone else is coming down let me know and maybe we can meet up. Smiley

Saturday's volunteer project went well. There was about ten people who showed up to help out. Emery County had already brought in an excavator and done a lot of work on the trail, removing some of the lime stone ledges and such. We put in posts and rail up the side of the trail, mostly as a visual reminder of the danger. After the work was completed some of us continued to ride up to the 636 trail and on down to the Eva Conover trail. Here are a few pictures of the project.
