Over the $200 mark

Well, with the purchase of a new radiator hose today, I went over the $200 mark I've spent fixing my Kawasaki where it was not my fault. And obviously, normal maintenance, labor, my labor, special tool purchase, and my time not included here.

Taillight socket $25 (probably shorted due to handguards pinching switch wire)
Swingarm bearings $55 (infamous issue with kawie. Fixed w/ waterproof parts)
Rear axle seal $35 (most likely due to age of rubber)
Four intake valves $85 (known issue with this model year. Was prepared for it)

Radiator hose $17 (most likely due to age of rubber)

Total =$217

Miles=14,400
Hours=1365

Bottom line: Pretty darn good machine! I'd buy another one.  Wink Grin

That's awesome!  You should give yourself some credit also.  While I know that $h** happens, if you take good care of a machine... it will take good care of you.

I've tried to for the most part. What abuse it's taken has come from my throttle thumb though! Grin It's just too much fun to stab it and drift it around corners. It's come back to bite me several times. Rolling on floor laughing I've stood it up on its rear end once, leaned it over on it's side twice, and had it upside down twice.  Cheesy
