Power Steering not working?
05/07/18 at 06:06:57

After our 160 mile ride on Saturday, I'm convinced the power steering on my new Kawasaki Brute Force isn't working. How to test/confirm?

At a stand still on pavement pointed down hill should be able to tell; ignition  off vs engine running.

Doing 165 miles in one day means you were running Toyota Corolla roads at high speeds all day. Kawasaki's automatic variable power steering senses speeds and input and reduces assist at high speed on smooth terrain. It should add assist on slow speed, good traction scenarios. You should easily be able to tell if it's working just driving it around in your driveway.

Correct, an unreasonable and unhealthy amount of wide open desert at ~45mph to get to/from the far side of HWY30.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll confirm power-on -v- power-off feel for power steering.
