Today, because I have some down time while I am waiting for the transfer case parts, I am learning a new skill.

I have always wondered what "regroovable" meant on the tires on my F450. Well after some research I found that when the tire wear you can deepen the grooves to get more miles out of them. Just need to leave 3/32 to the steel belt. You can also customize the tread pattern somewhat.

I bought the tool needed and gave it a try. The tire on the left is done, the one on the right hasn't been grooved yet. Will need to get them balanced when I am done.

This is a pile of the cuttings.

They were a b i tch to get off the truck. I had to make a puller tool to push the outer wheel off the hub. I would be good for a ride, day trip or boondock, I should have my truck back together. Hell I'm ready to ride now, I have the trusty Expedition and small trailer.
