The National ATV Jamboree in Fillmore is held annually the 3rd Tuesday of June.

So, Circleville town & Piute County have requested that we think on holding the Poker Run again in 2020.

Anybody have interest in helping out with trail support, manning a poker hand station, etc?

I'm getting 10-12 volunteers from town and the Cafe' wants to play a huge role next year.

2nd Annual Poker Ride. This year, we're expanding from a 40 mile loop to a 60 mile loop that includes portions of Dog Valley and the Fremont 02 trail.

This is a NOT-FOR-PROFIT event. All proceeds will go back to the Paiute ATV Trail Committee and/or be used for trails projects in the local community. Last year, we generated $2000 that went back to the Paiute ATV Trails.

Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner can be reserved via the Circleville Cafe' (information and pricing forthcoming). Start & Stop at the Circleville Community Center.

Registration & first poker hand at 9:00am, self-guided ride for ~60 miles South, across HWY89 toward the Fremont 02. Raffle and Dinner at 6pm.

There is no width restriction. There will be one optional 50" bypass at the ~40mile mark for those wanting a slightly more technical 50" experience, but otherwise this ride is open to *ALL* machine sizes.

There are RV Parks and motels in the area. Do plan on staying for the raffle & dinner, so get your reservations soon.

This is the general view (60 miles) for the Poker Run. There is a 50" optional section for the smaller machines that is fun and technical at about the 40 mile mark.

That's incorrect. We'll have directional arrows the start us off West of HWY89 and ending East of HWY89. I'd rather avoid head-on's if I can, and I need to have the Sheriff monitor traffic running parallel to HWY89 for that 1-2 mile stretch.

Sadly, its looking like the Circleville Cafe' didn't survive the pandemic and thus, Nada at Butch Cassidys Hideout has stepped up to handle the meal planning.

Thanks. I'm not going to lie. I'm nervous about the turnout. I am super fearful we're going to see 300+ machines converging on Circleville! My challenge will be to keep them separated so we don't have machine pile-ups occurring throughout the 60 mile route.

I will be quite honest, this all scares the hell out of me. The thought of bringing this many people into an area with such limited medical capacity just doesn't seem like the thing to do.

I'm not bailing, but this is just my thinking.

I would  be interested in Phil's (3tv) take on this, being he is in the medical field.

If you need to bail, please feel free. Hope you don't, but I understand the concern. The wife and I are going to take all precautions. Seems the week after, South Forty is holding their Papa-Bear run. I spoke to Jim & Teri and they're doing it come hell or high water. As this is a dispersed ride and not a large group ride, I'm not super concerned. The grouping of folks at registration and T-Shirt pickup may be the only worrisome part.

Now mind you, I'm keeping this moving primarily because so many have reached out to me directly about the need to get out and ride. As far as I know, this is the ONLY organized ride in Utah for the year so far..

A big line of people at registration would be my concern.  If we get there and there is a giant line, we may just do something else for the day.  I plan on bringing a mask for myself and my wife, to get through sign up, and we will bring our own lunch.  I plan on being one of the last people on the trail.  Once on the trail I would think people will be fine, assuming they don't drive off the side of a mountain, or some other calamity.  This is a casual trail ride, not a race, so we shouldn't have too many people getting hurt (but there may be a few, it always seems to happen to somebody).  I don't plan on attending the dinner afterwards, to better avoid crowds.

I suspect Jim has already contacted the available EMT/Ambulance service for the area, and has a phone number to contact emergency services if needed.

Updated to add: Piute & Garfield County Sheriff's office have been contacted and EMS for that region will be on standby for the OHV Ride/Event.

FYI...I ran the 50"(Bull Rush Trail) section yesterday and all is clear should make for a great ride !!!
