Route is ~60 miles to just south of HWY20 before we cross over HWY89 and hit the Fremont02.

More details forthcoming, to include cost per hand, raffle prizes and food.

What do you mean by how much? Each poker hand likely to be either $5 or $10 each, each hand is eligible for a raffle prize opportunity at the end of day dinner. Dinner is like $11 per person.

Price per hand still up in the air until we finalize all the sponsors. Don't want to charge $10 each hand unless we get a fair amount of prizes and sponsors.

It will be a ~60mile loop with 5 stops along the way. At each stop, you draw cards (depending on how many hands you bought), with the objective of having best hand at the end of the ride (ie.. 4x Aces, etc).

Over dinner, we'll raffle off prizes and award best hand.

So, we tried to pre-ride our Poker Run route on Friday. Still too much snow East and West of HWY89, but we still managed to get in a very diverse 100 mile ride.

The snow is melting so fast, there's RIVERS coming off the mountain and flooding the area to the South of Piute Reservoir!

We're going to make another attempt in 3-4 weeks!

So, now that my pneumonia seems to be passing, it looks like the wife and I will head down tomorrow morning early (Sunday) to pre-ride our route. Pretty sure its going to be a mud-fest closer to 9000 feet, if its at all passable.

We pre-ran the route yesterday. Other than some snow melt lakes forming West of HWY89, ~2 miles on the East side still have decent snow drifts. Those drifts should be gone in the next ~2 weeks.

Its looking likely we'll have a 50" only bypass that goes through a really narrow and nice slot canyon/wash, with a moderate technical climb to the peak before connecting with the OHV/SxS friendly route through the Fremont 02 trail.

Here's one of the deeper snow melt lakes we encountered. The trail was deeper than off trail. Fortunately, we found a bypass to get around the newly formed lake.

Heading down to Circleville again tomorrow to make a 2nd run (this time from the North) to see if the last snow drifts are clearing out.

We will be making a 50" bypass mid-ride for those that want a narrower and moderately technical experience.

Bummer! Still a 1.7mile stretch of deep snow drifts that's impassable. I will head down again next weekend and if the snow isn't receding, then the route will head North through Rocky Ford, Paiute 01 then back through Junction. Otherwise, this becomes a 50" only ride because we have a 50" bypass at Horse Valley..

BUMP! Poker Run is this coming Saturday. We have a 40-60 mile route mapped out. I'll be driving down Wed. afternoon to set everything up.

Just found out today that my work schedule has changed and it looks like I'll be able to make it.  If you were doing this route with your wife riding double would you bring a two up ATV or a 72" wide UTV?

Thanks! Super awesome to meet you, and meet-up again with a ton of ATVUtah members that don't post so much anymore. Met a ton of the Tri-State ATV Jamboree leadership.

Candidly, don't know if I would do this again, but we did raise $1600 for trails development work and I hope to put that money to good use in/around Circleville if the town doesn't object (and they might).

Just like magic, the weather held for just today. We had snow, 50mph winds, rain, hail and cold temps that dropped below freezing at night, but today -- WEATHER HELD. Our route was actually mostly dry, there was actually some dust, the creek crossings were AWESOME and Marty, the Piute County Sheriff did well for us with his SUV with lights flashing ALL day for that one portion of HWY89 we had to run up.

A bigger shoutout to Rutcutter who tolerated a ton of nonsense while helping more than I could ever comment on to make this Poker Run the Success that I've been told it was. Thanks, Mike! Super appreciate the nuts-ton of work you did to help out.

Thanks to all those that came out, and especially to those that stayed for dinner, the high hand prize and the raffle prizes. If you were there, could you tell I was both TIRED, HOT and done doing the MC thing (hosting the event)?  Rolling on floor laughing

Wanted to give a BIG shout out to Mike and Jim on what a great job they did on this poker run. With the adverse situations they had with the trail choice I have to say the trail was pretty darn cool and well marked. And another big thank you to Aaron, Scott and Trish for their help thanks again for all you guys did hope to see this event next year !!!

When I used to do the desert racing on the bikes during the races, usually after I just crashed my brains out, I would ALWAYS ask myself why do I do this to myself. BUT after the race was over sitting around the pits drinking a cold one I would say to myself that wasn't to bad. Then the cycle would begin during the next race Grin

Long story short, I look at this poker run as the same. Kind of a pain to get going, but now that it's done and over I wouldn't mind doing it again Wink
