I always wondered if you'd ever make the jump to a SXS.  Smiley

This is definitely one step in that direction. Heading to the Paiute this coming weekend and the wife tells me she's developed carpal tunnel such that she doesn't think she can ride an ATV anymore!  :'( Undecided

Rolling on floor laughing And, I just rebuilt her Honda and the POPO 850..  Shocked I guess its always good to have backup machines for me and/or family/friends. Might be time to start shopping for that SxS afterall, but not a fan of the PoPo RZR (yet).

There's always one of these... albeit many on this forum say they're hard to work on.  This one's a 2019 so I haven't had the pleasure of needing to work on it (other than maintenance) with only 1100 miles logged so far.

If I can do it, you can do it.  I will say my wife and I have a more enjoyable time riding together.

I like the looks of the CanAm X3, but its enormous and expensive ($33k). We'd only need a 2 seater and ideally not over 60" wide. What would you recommend? I see 3TV recently bought a RZR for his purposes, but I've always found the Polaris suspension unreasonably stiff and unforgiving on washed boarded or rutty trails.

I had to buy after market shocks and PRP suspension seats to make mine comfortable.

Mine's the 64" RC at $23,999 MSRP ($5600 less than the 72" MSRP).  64" is better suited for my riding style and the 120HP turbo is more than adequate.  And then, you have to accessorize!  At last last count, I was over $30K invested but hey, fun and comfort aren't cheap.

Part of what you're paying for with the higher-end SxS are rebuildable, adjustable shocks.  You can always have a suspension shop re-valve your factory shocks for exactly the kind of riding you want to do:

Funny how things evolve. The wife gave me a ton of guff because I was outfitting her Jeep Gladiator. We went to the dealership and bought her a new JL/Wrangler.. she almost immediately asked me to begin outfitting it just like the Gladiator!  Rolling on floor laughing

We'll get the JL early next week after the lift/tires, shocks and rock slider steps are installed. It too will be rocking 37's on after market wheels..

As soon as we got home, I started modifying the Gladiator to be MINE. Decals, interior items, self extraction kit, bed modifications and my Amazon cart is chock full of custom items like a new custom grill, etc..

I got one of the Blue Ridge Overland Tool Bags that are shown in this video.  Space is a premium commodity in my 2-door JL, so this bag works fantastic for me.  I can't believe all the stuff I have in it, which is quite a bit more than he has in the video.  You have all the space you need for tools with your JT, but the Overland bag still may work well for you.  Take a look.

The wife's JL is a 4 door. I just got a container for the bed of the JT for all my recovery gear and tools. Not perfect, but it will work for now.  Photos later of the JT bed situation as it stands now..

Truly, I think better than any SxS I could have purchased. I have no desire to run sand dunes at max speed or open desert at WOT. This JT and JL will do wash boarded trails at +60mph with these FOX shocks, all day, every day.

And, as of this past weekend, I confirmed I can do around ~300 miles without refueling.. and that's in 4HI in snow.. and now that I have a molle rack in the bed with extra rotopax, I have another 4-6 gallons of fuel which equates to more than 1/4 tank..

Didn't like the look of the light bar, so I removed the two side mounts and bolted the bar directly to the bumper.. Much cleaner look, I think.

Drove the SxS 5Mile to Eureka today. Into Eureka for yet another great lunch at the West side (Route 66) Cafe', then into the train tunnel just off Elberta Slant Road.

How are you coming along with your plan for 39's Jim?

My plan to stay with 35s didn't even last two months.  I ordered the lift and 37s over the weekend.  Just wondering what you are doing differently for 39s.

40s are the new 35s. Roll Eyes

I have most everything ready for 38's or 39's, except for fenders. I will need to replace fenders to allow for clearance. I have a set of mod'd RUBI fenders at the ready..

You'll likely want to change your gear ratio post 37's.. I went to 4.88 and that made all the difference.

Also, ensure you have the beefier D44 axles, as 37's will stress stock thin tubed axles to the point of bending and cracking. I replaced both axles with far beefier tubes, etc.

What axles did you end up going with?  I read online that you changed to Rubicon axles, but I have also read that you went with Dynatrac 60s.  Do you think the stock axles in a Rubicon/Mojave are strong enough for your 39s?  Any thought of changing to RCV axle shafts?

Found some Bushwacker fenders for my JT.. These will allow me to go with larger tires!  Wink Retail was about $550 via Quadratec, but seller in TN sold them to me (shipped) for $400. Unreal that UPS wanted $175 to ship a box of plastic!

Just seeing this. I think I went with D60's with thicker tubing.. Was told I'd be good to do 40's. If and when my Ram 3500 Dually succumbs to age, I'll yank the AA11.5 axles and tuck those under the JT!  Cheesy

These trucks just seem to swallow up any tire you put on them.  I've never seen a JT with tires that looked too big for it.

I am trying not to spend too much money on mine, because I'm hoping Jeep will bring out the 6.4 Hemi version in another year.  But the 35s just looked so small, even with stock suspension.  So a cheap spacer lift of 2.5" and 37s will hopefully get me by.
