2020 RIDE DESCRIPTIONS
TRIP #1  Taste of Ticaboo (9:00 AM)

Intermediate Trail Riding open to all ATVS/UTVS – street legal only (75 miles)

Highlights: This ride is on the BLM Henry Mountains range. Visitors will begin at Ticaboo Lodge and enter a canyon to the old mines, drop into Shitamarang Canyon, and exit by way of climbing out of the mine area into our “Jurassic” playing ground. We’ll then traverse the mesa top to the Badlands before making our way toward the Burr Trail. Crossing the Burr Trail, we’ll continue through more Morrison Formation back toward Ticaboo.

Trailhead: The trailhead is right behind Base Camp, next to the Ticaboo Lodge, so no need to trailer the machines.

The Trail:  This long route is primarily on county B roads, well graded, and some maintained gravel roads. The Burr Trail is paved.
TRIP #2  The Mount Hillers Loop (9:00 AM start time)

Intermediate Trail Riding open to all ATVS/UTVS – street legal only (90 miles)

Highlights: This ride is on the BLM Henry Mountains range. Visitors will begin at Ticaboo Lodge and enter a canyon to the old mines, drop into Shitamarang Canyon, and exit by way of climbing out of the mine area into our “Jurassic” playing ground. We’ll then traverse the mesa top to the Badlands. Whereas the “Taste of Ticaboo” leaves south from here, the “Mount Hillers Loop” will turn north toward the Henry Mountains. We’ll tour the old Starr Springs ranch, where we’ll have lunch, then loop around Mount Hillers to the east, enjoying the beautiful red rock views from Gold Creek and The Ghost Ridge, circling around the north end of Mount Hillers, then as we continue on the west side between Mount Hillers and Mount Pennel, we’ll come across Quaking Aspens, Stanton Pass, then back to the Badlands as we follow our earlier trail back to Ticaboo.

Trailhead: The trailhead is right behind Base Camp, next to the Ticaboo Lodge, so no need to trailer the machines.

The Trail:  This long route is on county B roads, well graded, and some maintained gravel roads. A small section of Hwy 276 needs to be driven due to a blockage on the northern trail.
