I'm planning on doing this trail tomorrow.  It would be nice to hear from anyone who knows the answer.  It might save me a long trip for a short ride.

Take your smallest machine. There wasn't much trail left late last year.. I may be heading that way myself..

I'll take my Outlander, which is 48" wide.  Planning on leaving Cedar by 7:00 or so.  I want to go to the gauging station to unload my ATV.  From there, ride south to the start of Rocky Ford Trail, then take that trail to Antimony.  Gas up, and maybe eat lunch in Antimony.  Then ride to Otter Creek and up the Hickman Canyon switchbacks to the 01 trail.  Then south on the 01 to the gauging station again.

Want picked up in Panguitch on the way?

Looks like I got friends in over night from Hurricane, so I'm hanging here for at least half-the-day. Have fun, be safe!

.   Be careful, last fall it was impassable for a 50”rzr. Rolled a few  times before stopping. The occupants were hospitalized for a few days.

Well sorry cpeters, I can't answer your question for you.  I went to the Rocky Ford Trail today.  Here is a sign at the start of the trail.

In the bottom of the gorge, before the real narrow part, I came upon this deadfall.  Last night, as I was getting ready to go, I was standing in front of the cabinet in my garage that has my saws in it.  I thought to myself, maybe I should bring my chainsaw.  Naw, I don't want to lug that thing through the whole trail.  I threw in a good hand saw instead, that can cut trees up to 10" in diameter.  Which guaranteed there would be a 14" diameter tree across the trail in a spot that could not be bypassed.

I had to turn around and go back to the staging area at Kingston Canyon, and took the pavement to Otter Creek Reservoir, and went up the Hickman Canyon switchbacks and finished my loop that way.  It was still a fun 55 mile ride, but I never saw the narrow section on the Rocky Ford Trail.

When we hit Rocky Ford late last year, we had to cut back some trees on the trail as well. Its pretty clear to me that trail doesn't see much traffic.

As for me, we ran the Fremont02 and into Casto Canyon yesterday. Other than 4 machines from Bryce Canyon ATV tours, we saw nobody else..

Spoke with the Forest Service Rep with regards to Rocky Ford and as of today they still have not made the alterations to the area in concern but it is still in the works as soon as I hear more I will pass it along !!

Good to hear.  I'd love to hit that again but not a chance in my RZR.
