Paunsagunt Ride

Yesterday, 8 of us (3x UTV and one RZR RS-1 departed my ranch north of Panguitch. We hit the Fremont 02 and into Bryce for lunch. From there, we shot up the mountain, past Tropic Res and up the Pansagunt. Our goal was to drop down into Hatch for fuel.

Unfortunately, whiile I remembered the P03 trail took us into Hatch, most every 03 trail heading down the mountain was barricaded due to "Fire Mitigation", so we backtracked and added easily an extra 40 miles to our trek. Finally, after some hard GPS studying, I found a route down and we ultimately made it to Proctor Canyon and into Hatch for fuel. By this time, we had already run ~100 miles and many were burning fumes.

Fueled up, back up the mountain toward Panguitch. Somewhere I must have missed a trail because we got closer to Panguitch Lake than my restaurant. Super tired and dirty, we just decided to run the Highway back down to Cedar Breaks Grill. Filthy and tired, but hungry, we all enjoyed a Prime Rib dinner.

~120 miles. Machines:

CanAm X3 Turbo
Our Yamaha Wolverine R-Spec
Mike (Rut): RS1
and A 4 seater CanAM X3 Turbo rented out of Lizzie & Charlies (thanks, Milo!)

Tropic Reservoir.. still has water! Not nearly the amount of campers I'd expect to have seen. Place was relatively barren of people!

It's the rides that don't go as planned that usually have a better story behind them like this one. Grin

We made a promise that before Fall ends, we'd take an RV for an extended weekend to explore every side trail on the Paunsugunt. This was our route this weekend.
