Lesson learned

So I used to chuckle at those who carried a spare tire on their SxS.  I mean who carries a spare tire on an ATV so why would you on a SxS.  I  know why now….because you can.  I took off on a big loop ride.  The plan was to take off from Ferron, make my way to Eagle Canyon,  then head east through Black Dragon Wash.   After that head north into the Book Cliffs north of Green River.  Follow the Cliifs to Cisco then make my way back on various trails.   Well I made it 165 miles when my rear tire on my RZR blew its bead seal directly north of Cresent Junction.I figured no big deal, I grabbed my ratchet strap and wrapped it around the tire and got the tire nice and tight on the rim.  Here’s the issue,  when I went to put the air compressor hose on the valve stem….no valve stem.  Sure would have been nice to have a spare tire.  Rolling on floor laughing Called my wife on the satellite phone and asked her to bring me  one of my new RZR tires.  90 miles by road she had to drive and with a good attitude.  I now have a spare tire on the rig.  Sorry to all those who I chuckled at with spare tires.

Side wall blow-outs is what got me to carry a spare on the SxS. On multi-day rides, I used to carry a spare on the ATV. It was ugly and heavy, but it was better than calling my wife to make a ~300 mile trek with a spare!  Wink

I also carry a sidewall repair kit. I havent had to use it yet, but the reviews seemed pretty solid.

I think the package is made by Gluetread..
